This evening I want to take a break from my usual beauty related posts to share something else meaningful with all of you. Makeup is a true passion of mine, but I would like to use this platform to share other important things as well. One thing that has always been important to me is helping other people. So, today I want to share what I have been working on this past week to help out soldiers who don’t get to come home this Christmas.
What I’ve Been Doing.
This year I got inspired to send Christmas cards out to soldiers who are stuck over seas this holiday season. My mission is to have every soldier get their name called when the mail comes. Every single one of them deserve to be told Merry Christmas! This week I have been working on writing personalized notes, about a paragraph long, into each Christmas card. I don’t know the soldiers that will receive these cards, but I wanted to write them something to bring them a smile. To not only say Merry Christmas, but to also thank them for their service and let them know how important they are to this country. So far, I have 32 cards completed, and I am working on more. Along with each note in the card I am also including a small candy cane.
Why I’m Doing It.
I started doing this because I truly want to bring the soldiers joy to their hearts. They sacrifice so much for their country, and they can never be told too many times how appreciated they are. The things they endure are stressful, and a card reminding them they are important can really help them. Kind words go much farther than some people may think. Sometimes kind words can turn a person’s day around, and help them work through the tough times. If there is anyone who deserves kind words, appreciation, and encouragement it is soldiers. It warms my heart to write out these cards, and I hope I can encourage others to join me.
How You Can Help!
Helping this cause is easy. It takes little money and little time, but it can mean the world to a soldier that can’t go home this Christmas. All you have to do is write out a Christmas card. You can send as few or as many as you want. All it takes is a quick thank you and signing your name.
I am sending my cards to two different addresses this year, and from there they will be sent out to soldiers. The addresses I use are:
A Million Thanks 17853 Santiago Blvd. #107-355 Villa Park, CA 92861
Americas Adopt A Soldier P.O. Box 1049 Springfield, VA 22151
Any cards you can send will be appreciated by the soldiers that receive them. All cards need to be mailed out by no later than DECEMBER 1ST to ensure that they are sent to the soldiers in time. I encourage people to join me in this good cause. Even if you can’t help out I hope you enjoyed reading this. I just wanted to share what I have been working on this week outside of beauty related things.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
