Welcome back beauties!
Today I want to share with all of you the items I picked up from Sephora for my birthday. I didn’t pick up a whole lot, but I always grab a few things when I get my free birthday gift. I also used a promotion code to get a free product as well as used a few points to pick up a couple of things.
If you’re interested in seeing what I got just keep on reading!
~Items I Purchased~
Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain
The first thing I had to pick up were these Sephora Collection cream lip stains! I had never tried these before, but when I watched a Youtube video from Casey Holmes swatching all the newly released shades I knew I needed to check them out! These retail for $14 US which isn’t bad for a liquid lipstick that is going to last you a long time. I picked up the shades #23 copper blush and #32 nude blush.
I wore a combination of these two today, and so far I am impressed. They go on smooth and opaque with only one layer. They are very comfortable to wear! I didn’t find them drying at all. It also lasted on my lips for most of the day with no transfer. I love that it is infused with avocado oil to help keep lips hydrated. I need to wear them more, but I can definitely see this becoming a new favorite. A girl can never have too many liquid lipsticks or at least that’s what I keep telling myself! 😛
Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment
I have really been on the hunt for a good primer to put in my T-zone to keep me matte throughout the day. I have combination to oily skin, and I do get oily throughout the day. I had one mattifying primer, but it felt like putting glue on my face. Clearly, I was not a fan of that! I decided to try out the Cover FX mattifying primer with anti-acne treatment. I got the travel size that retails for $16 US, but you can also purchase the full size for $38 US. I decided on the travel size because my skin is incredibly sensitive to primers. I didn’t want to commit to the full size in case it would start breaking me out. I am hoping with the anti-acne treatment it will work well for me.
I tried it out for the first time today. I can say that it kept me matte all day long. My foundation looked matte all day, and I did not have to use blotting sheets at all. I also liked the texture of the primer. It has a silicon feel to it that glides over skin easily. While mattifying my skin it also filled in my pores nicely. So far I like it, but it is still to soon to tell whether or not my skin will have a bad reaction to it.
Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara
A few months back I received a sample of the Stila huge extreme lash mascara as a point perk, and it quickly became my holy grail mascara! So of course I had to purchase the full size product. I have used that sample nearly every day since I got it, and I could not let myself run out of it. This mascara is the blackest black, and it makes my lashes look very voluminous. I honestly have no need to wear false lashes when I put on this mascara because it makes my lashes look that good. If you haven’t tried it you need to! It retails for $23 US, but I promise it is worth the splurge!
Anastasia Beverly Hills #12 Brow Brush
For so long I have heard multiple people rave about this eye brow brush. I swore that I would not give in to the hype, but here I am. Curiosity finally got the best of me! I have not used it yet, but I am hoping it holds up to the hype. I do like that it is angled on one side with a spooly on the other. It also seems to be a very thin angle which is good for precision. I am excited to give it a try. You can purchase the brush at Sephora for $18 US.
~Free Birthday Kit~
Sephora always gives you a few different options for your birthday. When I saw there was a kit from Tarte I knew I had to have it! Tarte is honestly one of my favorite brands. This kit includes samples of two of my most favorite products from Tarte. The first sample is of one of their tartiest matte lip paints in the shade Birthday Suit! This is a beautiful dark nude shade, and how fitting is the name? The tartiest matte lip paints are one of my favorite formulas! The other sample is of one of their amazonian clay 12 hour blushes in the shade Paaarty! Their blush formula is my all time favorite. They look flawless and they last the longest amount of time. I will definitely be reaching for this a lot!
~Point Perks and a Promotion~
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum
First Aid Beauty is one of my favorite brands! Their skin care honestly is some of the best you can purchase. When I saw they offered this serum as a 100 point perk I had to get it. I haven’t tried this particular product before, and I figured this would be a great way to try it out. I have been looking for something hydrating to add into my skincare routine, and I can’t wait to try this out!
Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Lip Gloss Shade Pure Peach
This oil lip gloss was also a 100 point perk. I have heard a lot of good reviews on this product, and it sounded very healthy for my lips. It contains peach oil, coconut oil, and vitamin E that helps to moisturize and soften lips. I have already started using this, and it makes your lips feel amazing! I also like that it does have pigment to it rather than being clear. I am glad I used my points to get this!
Touch in SOL Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duo Shade #2 Penny
I received this product using a promotion code that was sent in an email from Sephora. I personally I have not joined in on the metallic liquid lipstick trend. However, I thought this would be a good way to try it out without spending money on something I most likely won’t like. This particular duo includes a metallic matte liquid lipstick on one side and a metallic gloss on the other. I will definitely be giving it a try, and who knows maybe I will love it. Sometimes it is good to get out of your comfort zone!
That is everything that I got for my Sephora birthday haul! I hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you so much for taking time to read it. If you like it make sure to like my post and subscribe to be notified when I post new content!
