I am very excited for today’s post! I am going to be giving you my review and opinion of the YSL All Hours Foundation! I have been wearing this non-stop ever since I saw Casey Holmes mention it in one of her videos. This product is a pricey one, but spoiler alert I think it is so worth it!

Yves Saint Laurent knows how to do some gorgeous packaging! This product looks just as luxurious as it should matching its high price tag. I personally love the packaging they chose for this product. It is a nice frosted glass bottle that feels very well made. It comes with a pump, and then the lid is glossy black with their logo in gold. I love when companies use frosted glass in their packaging. Add the black and gold to it, and you have classic beautiful packaging.
I give this packaging a 10 out of 10!
The foundation has a pretty thin consistency to it. When you pump it out on your hand or a palette it will run down if held at an angle. A little bit of it goes a very long way! You really don’t need much product which is why I love the pump on the bottle. The pump doesn’t dispense a lot of product, but that is because you get good coverage using about a nickel sized amount of product.
I have found out of all my brushes my favorite way to apply this foundation is using the Elf ultimate blending brush. It buffs the foundation out beautifully with no brush marks, and it still gives good coverage. I liked it with my flat top brush from Morphe as well, but I prefer it with the Elf brush. I did not like how a sponge blended this product out at all! I don’t even use a sponge for my concealer when I wear this foundation. I just don’t care for the way it looks personally.
I find it to apply very smooth and even. It does not look patchy on me or anything like that. It gives me the most beautiful finish to my skin. I wouldn’t say that it is full on a matte finish. I see it as more of a satin matte which I actually really like. When I first apply it I get a natural glow to my skin that just looks healthy. The foundation blurs out my pores, it doesn’t settle into any lines, and it evens out my skin without ever feeling heavy.
There has been some complaints that the foundation oxidizes really bad. However, the shade I purchased is a perfect match for me, and the color does not change at all on me throughout the day. I don’t know if there is an inconsistency with the product or what the deal is, but mine personally does not oxidize on me.
Possibly my favorite thing about the foundation is it lasts all day long! That 24 hour wear claim is spot on for sure! Now I of course have not worn it for 24 hours, but I have worn it for over 12 hours. Let me tell you, it looks just as flawless at the end of the day as it did in the beginning. The only issue is that as the day goes I do start to get oily with this foundation. However, I find myself not minding that I get a dewy look because despite the dew the foundation does not break down at all! No matter how oily I get the foundation does not crease or break up anywhere on my face. I have never had a foundation wear as well as this one on my skin.
I do find that it transfers, but I find that with all foundations. So for me I always ignore that claim anyways.
I took some photos throughout the day to show you how the foundation wears on my skin. I wore the foundation for 9 hours for this wear test, and I think it will give a good idea of how it looks on me.
Don’t mind my appearance…As the day went I got tired, and it certainly was showing. I had a very busy day.
As you can see in the last picture I do look oily. Keep in mind part of that is caused by the light reflecting. I was oily, but the lighting did emphasize it a little. The foundation was gone on my chin, but that was from me resting my hand there. That is something that happens with all foundations because I always rest my hand on my chin. However, other than that it held up great.
Worth the Price?
Hmmm…Let me think. YES! I definitely think this is worth the price. It is an expensive foundation, but I truly think it is worth the money because it wears so well. Plus, you only need a small amount so the product should last a good amount of time. If you can I would still recommend going to a Sephora, and asking them for a sample since it is so expensive. I couldn’t do that where I live because my Sephora does not have YSL in store, but if your Sephora does try a sample to see how you like it.
As always take my opinion with a grain of salt. I am giving you my honest opinion that I love this foundation, but that doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. If you are interested in seeing a review where someone didn’t love it go check out Thataylaa’s day 3 of fifteen days of foundation! She gives amazing foundation reviews, and this one was not her favorite. Makeup works differently for everyone.
Thank you so much beauties for taking time out of your day to read my review. I hope you enjoyed this review, and if there is any product your curious about let me know! I’d love to review it for you! Have a great evening everyone!
