Taking Lipstick from Sticky to Smooth

tacky lips

Hello Everyone!

Welcome back to my quirky corner, or if it’s your first time here welcome to the family!

Life has been a tad bit crazy as of lately, and therefore my blogging schedule definitely got off track. The next few weeks possibly could be even worse, but I am prepared this time! I have actually got some work pre-done so that I will be able to post even when I am busy.

I hope all is going well with all of you! Comment below and let me know how life has been going!

Today I am going to share my hack for taking a liquid lipstick that stays tacky and making it smooth! We have all got that liquid lipstick that we love the color, but it drives us crazy because it stays tacky. I cannot stand a lipstick that stays tacky. I find it uncomfortable to wear so I found a hack that eliminated the problem. If you’re curious to see what I do just keep on scrolling!

The lipstick I am using as an example today is the Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Les Chocolats Scented Liquid Lipstick in the shade Candy Man. I absolutely love these lipsticks! They are sincerely one of the longest lasting liquid lipsticks in my collection, and they only cost around $9.99 or less. No joke these will last on the lips all day long regardless of what you drink or eat.

Plus there is the fact that they smell like delicious chocolate! The shade range is also beautiful, and Candy Man is one of my personal favorites for daily wear. I highly recommend that you try these out if you haven’t already!

Now obviously if these are my example despite loving them there is something I don’t like about them. The only problem I have is the fact that this lipstick stays tacky. It does not smudge, budge, transfer, etc. but it sure does keep a tacky feeling. Every time you touch your lips together they stick. Now for some people that is not a problem, but for me, it is something I can’t deal with.

So here are my easy steps to solving the problem!

Step 1

Take the applicator of the lipstick, and dot a small amount of product on your lips. I do this rather than using the applicator to apply the product because I find that the applicator applies too much product. By dotting the product you have more control over the amount used. The less product you use the less tacky your lips will be.

Step 2

Next, take either a lip brush or a small smudger brush to apply the dotted product. I personally like to use a smudger brush from Vintage Cosmetics, but you can use any small brush in your collection. Using the brush fill in your entire lips with the product. Again, this just gives you more control than using the applicator.

Step 3

Lastly, take any translucent matte setting powder in your collection, and use your finger to pat it onto your lips. I use the Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder. You can use any pressed or loose powder in your collection, but it is best that it is a truly translucent powder.  This step completely takes away the tacky feeling of the lipstick!

If you use these three easy steps with any of your liquid lipsticks that are tacky it will take the tackiness right away. I love using this hack because now I can wear my favorite shade of lipstick without dealing with the tacky feeling.

I hope you enjoyed this little hack, and hopefully, it helps you out! Thank you so much for spending part of your day in my quirky corner with me! Have a great evening!
