Hello everyone! Welcome back to my quirky corner of the web, and welcome to 2020! So every year I start off with a whole mind full of resolutions, and do a virtual vision board. However, at the end of each year I have accomplished next to nothing. So this year I am approaching things with a whole new attitude, and a new action plan. If you’re interested in how I plan to make 2020 a success then just keep on scrolling!
The first thing I did is the same as every other year. I created a vision board using my Pinterest which you can check out here: https://www.pinterest.com/kayle_posey_93/
I like doing a vision board because it helps me to visualize where I can be if I follow my goals. I prefer to do it on Pinterest because I can still look at it each day without it taking up space or wasting paper. I don’t think a vision board is enough to help you succeed, but I do think it is a helpful tool. I also find it helpful to look at other people’s vision boards for inspiration.
The problem I have had year after year is that I don’t plan. I think about my resolutions, but I don’t make an action plan. This year one photo changed how I will be taking on my new year. The opening image is exactly what I needed. This year I decided to not call them resolutions, but instead goals. I also chose to write them all down in my Erin Condren planner to not only acknowledge them, but to also track there progress. Then last but not least I have chosen to take on my goals by doing a new challenge every 21 days.
In theory it takes only 21 days of consistently doing something for it to become a habit. Therefore, it should only take 21 days to break a bad habit. I have decided to pick 3 habits to either break or build every 21 days. If I follow this challenge then each 21 days that pass I will be steps closer to my overall 2020 goals. This is the first year that I have had an action plan for my goals, and I honestly feel really good about it.
I started my first 21 day challenge on Saturday, and so far while it is hard it is going well. I chose to focus on waking up exactly when my alarm goes off, to drink 10 glasses of water a day, and to completely cut out fast food.
I chose to wake up when my alarm goes off because I hate mornings, and the snooze button is both my worst enemy and my best friend. I use multiple alarms which just ends up with me groggy, irritated, and dreading the day. Therefore, I want to change to getting up when I need to in order to start my day off right. I am choosing to drink 10 glasses of water a day because lets be honest there are many health benefits to drinking water, and this girl needs to be healthier. Lastly, I chose to cut fast food because it is unhealthy and it is very expensive.
I am 3 days in to my first challenge, and I am struggling but pushing through it. I think if I focus, and keep tracking my progress in my planner then I can succeed. I will also be posting updates on here to help hold me accountable! So here’s to the next 21 days, and the next after that. I am taking on my goals 21 days at a time, and I am excited to see where I am in a years time.
So what are your goals and how do you plan to accomplish them? I’d love to hear from you guys, and if anyone wants to take on a 21 day challenge with me let me know!
Thanks you as always for reading, and I hope you have a great day!
